Huston-Tillotson University Cheerleading is in the process of building on an already established cheerleading program. HT Cheerleading will hold two tryouts for the 2008-2009 Cheerleading season. The first will be in April 12-13 ,2008 this is for all students who currently attend or have received there acceptance letter for Huston-Tillotson. The second will be held in early August 2008 for all students enrolled for the 2008-2009 school year.

HT has two cheer teams.
The Maroon TEAM cheers for men's basketball and competitions. Maroon Team members are expected to have a standing back handspring, a roundoff back handspring, multiple back handsprings (more than two), and a toe-touch back handspring with no assistance
The Gold TEAM cheers for women's basketball and act as alternates for the Maroon TEAM. Ideally, the Gold TEAM should be able to do a standing back handspring and a roundoff back handspring with little or no assistance. However.............................. ***If you are EXTREMELY strong in ALL of the requirements, with the exception of tumbling, you will still be considered for placement on the Gold TEAM. Tumbling skills for the Gold TEAM are favored yet not necessary.

Requirements are subject to change.
1. An official letter of acceptance from the HT Admissions Office or an official transcript or mid-term grades from HT (Must have a minimum 2.0 GPA to tryout).
2. ALL trying out - Tryout application.
3. A letter of recommendation
4. ALL trying out - A current photo.
5. Interview and/or evaluation
6. Fight Song evaluation. You will be evaluated by either a coach or a judge during the week of tryouts on the learning and execution of the steps to the HT Fight Song.
